How This Works
Rabbinic Certifications
The packer we use offers a choice of Hechsherim(rabbinic certifications). After you have selected an item that you are interested in, you will notice several options in regards to the rabbinic certification. The price of the item is dependent on the hechsher of the item itself.
Glatt kosher certification is only applicable to beef and lamb products. All lamb products from this packer are Glatt. Beef is available in various certifications, Glatt and Non-Glatt. If you are uncertain about what certification you should order - contact your Rabbi. All products, Glatt or Non-Glatt, on this site are certified Orthodox Kosher.
So, to specify a selected item that is, KAJ, OU(Glatt) certification, choose the applicable option.. American Kosher certification is only available for beef products.
Kosher for Pesach
All products sold are certified Kosher for Pesach all year round.
Freshly Frozen
Generally, the meat we receive is not processed until we order it. Immediately after production our meat is sent by truck in a fresh state. When the truck arrives it is unloaded into a local freezer storage facility. So, the meat you will receive will be freshly frozen.
Salted and Soaked
All meat from this facility is salted and soaked and is ready for cooking. Fresh liver, of course, must be broiled before further use. Pre-broiled chicken and beef livers are available on the site.
State of the Art Facilities
The plant where the meat is processed is state of the art and USDA inspected. These facts, along with strict kosher methods of production, insure the freshest, most wholesome products and most humane treatment and shechita of animals.
Natural Processing
Poultry products from this facility are not injected with solutions and/or tenderizers as are some other commercially available kosher poultry products.
Product packaging
Orders must be for full cases only. We do not handle splitting cases. Case sizes vary from case to case, as is the standard practice in the meat business. Average case weights should be viewed as +/- (more or less) the amount stated on the web site. As stated above, you only pay for the amount you receive. Generally case size depends on the product and how it is packed. Please click on the details link at the product screen to obtain average case weights and the number and weight of "trays" or "packages" in each case.
PolyPak is how institutional-sized and packaged cases are denoted. These are the largest case sizes, around 60 lbs. containing non-retail packaging of product. "Tray packs" are cases made up of retail foam trays each wrapped separately. This is this kind of portioning and packaging found in grocery stores. These are the typical case size purchase for most people. Tray pack case products are slightly higher in per pound but cases sizes are lower weight than institutional/PolyPak cases.
The Nature of Buying Wholesale
Because we have no control over the supply and processing schedule in the production facilities we use, we are not able to make any guarantee as to availability of any item or product. Further; due to periodic or seasonal price fluctuations and/or shipping surcharges during periods of high gas prices we may need to adjust your invoice accordingly.
When and Where to Pick-Up Your Order
Generally, you will pick-up your order two to three weeks after the community order dead-line. You will be notified by e-mail or phone of the date and time of pick-up. We distribute product at the Chabad Lubavitch Synagogue parking lot which is located at 6638 SW Capital Hwy. This location is just west of and across from the Mittleman Jewish Community center and next door to the offices of the Jewish Federation of Portland. If you cannot make it to the scheduled pick-up please notify us as soon as possible. Please make every effort to have someone at the scheduled pick-up, for instance, if you will be away during a scheduled delivery please arrange for someone to pick up your order, if at all possible.
How Often We Order
In the Portland, OR area we order monthly. In Arizona, the orders are every other month.
